Bill Johnson

Bill Johnson (born July 18, 1951) is a Charismatic Christian revivalist, itinerant speaker, author, and a Senior Pastor of Bethel Church in Redding, California. He has been featured in video segments by Christian Broadcasting Network(CBN), Trinity Broadcasting Network (TBN), and various Darren Wilson films such as Father of Lights and Holy Ghost Reborn.

Johnson is a fifth-generation pastor. His father, M. Earl Johnson had been senior pastor at Bethel Church, then an Assemblies of God church, in Redding from 1968 to 1982.

Bill Johnson met his future wife Beni at Bethel in 1969. They served as pastors of Mountain Chapel in Weaverville, California from 1978 to 1996. In 1987, seeking a revival of healing, he attended a conference with John Wimber. He received further inspiration when attending the Toronto Blessing revival in 1995. Bill & Beni Johnson returned to Bethel Church in Redding as pastors in February 1996.

In 1998, they started the Bethel School of Supernatural Ministry (BSSM) to “train up a generation that walks in ‘revival culture'”. Bill has a rich heritage in the Holy Spirit. The present move of God has brought him into a deeper understanding of the phrase “on earth as it is in heaven.” Bill and the Bethel Church family have taken on this theme for life and ministry, where healing and miracles are normal. Bill teaches that we owe the world an encounter with God and a gospel without power is not the gospel Jesus preached.

Together, Bill & Beni serve a growing number of churches partnered for revival. This apostolic network has crossed denominational lines in building relationships that enable church leaders to walk in both purity and power. Their three children and spouses are all involved in full-time ministry.
